BA in Engineering, preferably in mechanical OR 7 years experience in a similar position, fully capable of CAD and CAM programming and versatile in all basic Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, Outlook. Familiar with all metal, plastic and wood manufacturing practices. Able to calculate stress and load factors. Knowledgeable in Lean and Six Sigma methods.
1. Drive continuous improvement throughout the plant by implementing lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
2. Evaluate manufacturing procedures and designs for all existing products, recommend and implement changes in the most cost effective and orderly manner.
3. Supervise the maintenance and tool room personnel, Quality Manager, and Manufacturing Technician
4. Study capital equipment purchases and make justified recommendations based on performance, cost, quality, and safety.
5. Responsible for make or buy decisions.
6. Responsible for the ISO 9001 certification.
7. Oversee CAD drawings and records, instructions manuals/sheets, work instructions, and ECN/ECR documentation.
8. Responsible for tooling, through machinist.
9. Responsible for product testing.
10. Assist with customer service problems.
11. Responsible for plant maintenance through maintenance department.
12. Assist with new product development.
