Handfed Grey Ringneck Dove - $50 (Orlando)

Hatched on April 14, 2024.

He is not DNA sexed but has started cooing and chasing the other birds, leading me to believe he is a male. His black ring is very pronounced. Absolutely loves cooing. His coo is very fluttery in comparison to my other doves.

He's a peanut addict as well. He was handfed as a baby. He's a bit skittish with new sounds and surrounding but can be bribed with peanuts. I shake a container with peanuts and he immediately perks up. If he sees it on your hand, he will fly over. He can probably be recalled trained because of this. Because of how timid he is though, I haven't given him diapers and would personally not recommend it. When I open the cage door and give him my hand, he immediately hops on. He likes being close. Your head will most likely be one of his favorite perches. He also likes perching on the shoulder.

When I work on my laptop, he likes to follow around the mouse and peck at it. He's quite curious and will try and put almost anything in his beak, especially fingers. It's not a bite, it's more like a bird gnaw.

So far, he does not care for cashews, bananas, or green leafy veggies.

He loves being outside of the cage and likes to find a place nearby where he can watch me work but be warned that he is just as happy hopping around the laptop and making sure you can't get any work done either . 🤣

He is looking for a loving home with someone who can give him time outside his cage of at least two hours daily. He cannot be clipped. Unlike parrots, doves do not climb or use their feet nearly as much and will need the full usage of his wings to have a good quality of life.
