I need a Spanish-speaking, personal support worker personnel to work with a developmentally disabled client who only speak Spanish that lives on the east side of Orlando.
Job Title: Personal Support Worker
Summary
Provide compassionate, hands-on care and support to clients in their homes or in a facility setting. Assist with daily living activities, promote well-being, and ensure a safe and comfortable environment. This role requires patience, empathy, and strong communication skills to support clients with a variety of needs.
Responsibilities
Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
Help with meal preparation, feeding, and monitoring dietary needs.
Provide mobility assistance, helping clients to walk, transfer, and perform prescribed exercises.
Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness.
Perform light housekeeping duties, such as laundry and tidying up the living space.
Monitor and report changes in a client's health, behavior, or appearance to a supervisor.
Assist with medication reminders and/or administration as directed.
Help clients get to medical appointments and social outings.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of services provided.
Qualifications
Completion of a recognized Personal Support Worker (PSW) program is necessary.
Applicants should hold current CPR and First Aid certifications.
While not always mandatory, previous caregiving experience is often preferred.
Essential skills include strong communication, interpersonal abilities, observational skills, and attention to detail.
PSW's need to be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Qualities such as empathy, patience, and resilience are important for this role.
The ability to perform physical tasks like lifting and transferring clients is required.
Candidates must typically pass a criminal background check and may need a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
