Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable Driver Helper to assist the Route Driver with the collection of waste and recyclable materials. This position involves physical work outdoors and requires candidates to be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work long shifts as needed.
Work schedules are based on daily operational needs and will be confirmed through a daily confirmation sheet. This position is not guaranteed daily work, but candidates can expect approximately 3–4 shifts per week, with 11-hour shifts typical.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Route Driver with the collection of waste and recyclable materials
Ride along designated routes and help with loading materials into the truck
Lift, move, and handle waste containers as required
Follow safety procedures and instructions from the driver and supervisor
Help maintain a safe and efficient work environment
Perform other general labor duties as assigned
Requirements:
Steel-toed boots are required and will be checked prior to assignment to a truck
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and moving materials
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
Reliable transportation and punctuality for early start times
Ability to work extended shifts when needed
Additional Information:
Start time is 5:15 AM and shifts run until routes are completed
Saturday work may be required, especially after weather events or holidays
Work assignments are communicated through a daily confirmation sheet based on operational needs.
