Who We Are: Our firm, InFocus Family Law Firm, practices in the area of family law. The majority of our cases are dissolution of marriage, paternity and related post judgment matters.
This is a new position where we will be adding a second paralegal to our team. We want someone to work a fixed schedule, but will consider candidates that are looking for either full-time or part-time (minimum of 25 hours per week).
Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include drafting documents, pleadings, court filings, emails and correspondence as well as scheduling hearings and mediations. Frequent and regular communications with clients, attorneys and other professionals in person and by phone. Because we are a small firm you will also be answering phones, greeting clients, filing and doing other administrative duties as needed.
We are looking for someone who can maintain a calm, positive and enthusiastic attitude.
Computer assessment, drug test, and full background check required.
Minimum of 2 years of recent family law paralegal experience;
We are open to part-time or full-time candidates, but would you should want to work a minimum of 25 hours per week.
Experienced with calendaring and billing systems;
Skilled user in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook software;
Experienced calculating child support guidelines and equitable distribution worksheets;
Good knowledge of dissolution of marriage, paternity and related post judgment matters;
General knowledge of other family law practice areas;
Additional Desirable Skills:
Knowledge of central Florida court procedures
Involvement in central Florida paralegal and legal community
Experienced with modern computer document management systems
Experienced with modern practice management software
Salary and Benefits: Salary will be commensurate with training and experience. We would expect many candidates will be in the $18 to $20 per hour range. Higher rate is available for those who can demonstrate significant knowledge and paralegal skills with regard to family law.
Our standard office hours are M-F 8:30am to 5:30pm. We offer paid time off (for those working 35 or more hours per week) and subsidized health insurance (for those working 25 or more hours per week).
