I used to own a Amp Repair Shop in the mid 80s. We were one of the first distributors of Groove Tubes in Pa. We used to deal with Aspen and the crew daily. Pre CBS buyout and Aspen passing. Power tubes were rated H (hard) and S (soft). Then a 1-10 scale on when the tube would break down. S4,5, and 6s were really great sounding in the old Marshall Plexis and Fenders and Gibson Tweeds. Super rare with the lower the numbers. We had a standing order for S-6s and lower. So to the point……
I have an ORIGINAL Quartet of El-34 S-4 small bottle tubes still in original plastic tube from 1987-88 still with bias instructions folded up, also some 12AX7, 12AU7, 12AT7 and 7025s still all new still in their tubes. These all are NEW, never used still in their tubes from 1987.
If you have an old Marshall 100w Plexi this will make your amp sound fantastic. These are a one of a kind.
Guaranteed
NOTE: Your amp will have to be biased when installing the tubes by a Tech. Not biasing the amp will damage the tubes and the amp will sound terrible. Instructions are included in the packing. If you are running 6550s a bia resistor will also have to be changed.
