For sale is a 1974 Fender Twin Reverb.
This amp is in great condition and working order , but has had some modifications done to it.
The first modification is that the Master Volume circuit (standard on Silverface amps of this period) has been removed. My tech informed me that the delete was done clean and professionally. The volume controls on both channels now functions like any other single channel amp, or a Blackface Twin would.
***The circuit has NOT been modified to Blackface spec, however. It still has the Silverface circuit***
Other than that, the grill cloth has been replaced, the faceplate has been switched for one off of a Reissue amplifier to hide the hole in the panel from removing the Master Volume pot, and the handle and front two cabinet corners have been replaced.
Because of these mods, the amp looks very clean. It comes with pop in casters, a 3 prong cable, a footswitch for the reverb and vibrato as well as a cover.
This amp has the original Oxford 12T6 speakers. The right speaker has been patched at some point in this amps history, but the patch looks and feels solid. I have never noticed in any way this repair affecting the sound of the amplifier, both at gigs or during recording. (I closed miked both speakers at one point specifically to see if I could hear a difference, but could not.)
***I also have recently had the amplifier serviced. It has brand new power tubes, is properly biased, and also has new filter capacitors, rectifier diodes, and screen and grid resistors.***
It's a great amp, sounds killer, and is all tuned up and ready to go.
