This is a full-time, on-site role for a Freight Administrative Assistant at our north Orlando, Florida office. The Logistics Administrative Assistant is a support role, responsible for servicing and maintaining relationships with clients and carriers, arranging shipments, and ensuring timely deliveries. Day-to-day tasks include managing customer accounts, coordinating with the Brokerage team, and providing exceptional customer service. The role also involves negotiating rates and maintaining accurate records of all transactions.
Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and scheduling appointments.
Assist with customer inquiries.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth office operations.
Ability to multi-task and handle stressful situations.
This is NOT a sales position, but good phone skills are necessary.
Qualifications
Previous secretarial or administrative experience desired.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to take and follow instructions.
Dispatching skills and the ability to coordinate logistics
Excellent phone, reception, and negotiation skills (NO COLD CALLS required).
Ability to work onsite.
Ability to constructively confront delicate issues.
Work in a stressful, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment that requires thinking and acting quickly and creatively to resolve problems.
Ability to recall detailed information and communicate effectively with customers as well as truckers.
Intermediate experience and knowledge of the Suite of Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel, and the ability to learn and use other software and office equipment as needed to perform job requirements. Skilled in various software applications to record information and create reports.
