They thrive in high humidity of 75-85% with temperatures of 72-82°F (22-28°C) and within a moisture-retentive mix of organic soil or coco coir, crushed oak leaves, and sphagnum moss. This combination should be at least 3-4 inches deep and include leaf litter and cork bark on top to provide a habitat for hiding, burrowing, and eating.
Their diet consists of decaying plant matter like leaf litter and soft, rotting wood, supplemented with commercial isopod foods, vegetables such as carrots or squash, and protein sources like dried shrimp or fish flakes. A calcium source, like cuttlebone or crushed eggshells, is also essential.
