JUNK CARS SIGNS... BEWARE!!!!

If you drive around the Orlando / Kissimmee areas, you have seen these homemade “Junk Cars” signs peppered throughout the community. They are everywhere. These are illegal businesses that are looking to rob you blind. They are not licensed, bonded or insured. They want to conduct business without having any responsibility. They usually deal in CASH ONLY, (so they don’t have to pay taxes,) with no receipts given. They have no business address, running their businesses at their private residences “under the radar.” You are not protected in any way, shape, or form, and that’s just the tip of their criminal enterprise.

THESE ILLEGAL BUSINESSES ARE…
• NOT LICENSED!!!!
• NOT INSURED!!!!
• NOT BONDED!!!!
• NOT TAX PAYERS!!!!
• NOT LEGAL!!!!!

So what happens if your “sold” vehicle is involved in a…
• Any traffic offense?
• An accident?
• In a violent crime?
• Involved in a hit-and-run?
• Identified in a drive-by shooting?
• Possibly even a murder?

Guess where the police are going to end up? AT YOUR HOUSE! These people use these vehicles to avoid any responsibilities for their ILLEGAL AND CRIMINAL actions! If you are selling your vehicle… DO NOT allow the buyer to leave without signing both the title and the bill of sale. Also get a copy of these “signed” documents, as well as of the buyer’s driver’s license. If they refuse to sign… DO NOT SELL THEM THE VEHICLE!!!

These criminals are involved in A LOT of crimes such as robbery, theft, and curbstoning, (selling multiple cars without a dealer’s license,) to name but a few. If the vehicle you sold in involved in an accident or even a traffic violation such as a red-light camera… YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE!!! AND… it can get worse… MUCH WORSE! Since these criminals avoid paying taxes… they keep the title blank, (called an OPEN TITLE,) never transferring paperwork such as titles or other DMV paperwork. That means according to the FLHSMV AND THE LAW,… YOU ARE THE REGISTERED OWNER, and therefore YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE!

After you sell your vehicle… file the title of transfer with the state with DMV form # 82050 ASAP… but the law states within 30 days of the sale.
