Position Overview
The Receiving Specialist performs the hands-on work required to receive inbound shipments into the warehouse. This role unloads product, verifies counts and condition, supports receiving documentation, labels material, stages inbound product, and helps ensure shipments are routed correctly. Accuracy, attention to detail, and safe material handling are essential in this position.
Key Responsibilities
• Unload inbound shipments safely by hand or with material-handling equipment
• Verify quantities, item identity, and product condition against shipment paperwork
• Assist with receiving transactions and documentation as required
• Label, stage, and organize inbound product for put-away or further processing
• Report shortages, damages, or shipment discrepancies to leadership
• Help maintain accurate receiving flow and organized inbound staging areas
• Support movement of material to the correct temporary or permanent location
• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely after training and certification
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized receiving areas
• Support other warehouse functions as needed
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Prior warehouse, receiving, or material-handling experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
• Comfortable using basic computers or warehouse systems
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Forklift experience is helpful but not required
Physical & Work Requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment
• Ability to operate material-handling equipment safely
