More About the Role:
NGEN is the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under the Service Management, Integrion, and Transport (SMIT) portion of NGEN, the Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operions, service desk, and da transport. Ultimely, Leidos will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and da management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network.

Leidos is seeking a Communicions Network Engineer will be physically loced Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division Orlando (ORLO) 12211 Science Dr, Orlando, FL 32826, primarily in DeFlorez building, and other buildings, as assigned, within a fifteen (15) mile radius.

The resource will report to the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) Informion Technology (IT) Division Head and Assistant Contract Technical Representive (ACTR) Staff NAWCTSD Orlando.
The resource will respond to changing priorities utilizing their Network Services skill set.
The resource will be capable of analyzing and defining network requirements pertaining to NAWCTSD NAVAIR operions.
 
This sub family is responsible for overall network engineering support for a broad range of programs including planning, designing, and evaluing various components of the network. Duties may include providing specificions for network architecture, evaluing, and recommending new technologies to enhance current capabilities, and performing needs assessments. Support level duties may include monitoring, installion, modificion, testing and servicing of network equipment.

The work locion for this position will be a government site and will require the ability to:
•Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. for up to a 100 feet a time; must be able to lift 25 lbs. vertically using ladders.
•Must be able to work in confined spaces, such as raised floors or communicions closets; must be able to work in noisy environments, such as da centers and operions centers; must be able to stand or sit for 8 hours a time.
•Must be able to utilize basic hand tools such as screwdrivers and wrenches while rack mounting active and passive equipment using small screws and brackets.
•Must have normal color vision to identify different colors of wires and cables; must have correctable vision to 20/20 or better so you can see objects and informion displayed in schemics, test equipment, and computer monitors; must have depth perception to be able to judge distance between objects to work safely on ladders and in confined spaces; must be able to use and read digital test equipment such as OTDR (optical time-domain reflectometer).
•Must be able to drive personal or corpore vehicle (depending on availability) to different locions to work on projects and troubleshoot issues; valid ste license required.

Wh You'll Get to Do:
•Changing Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN)s on network port configurions to assist in deploying network devices across the base.
•Defining and maintaining network architecture and infrastructure.
•Configuring and optimizing network servers, hubs, routers, and switches.
•Genering switch activity logs, as well as switch capacity reports.
•Making recommendions to clean up or upgrade communicion closets for streamlining switch and pch panel mrixes.
•Performing port activion, deactivion, and logical moves on switches, in support of emergent Move/Add/Change (MAC) moves.
•Engaging the NMCI Network Operions Center (NOC) for support for incidents/problems exceeding their capabilities or networking privileges.
•Assisting with diagnosing and resolving network problems.
•Installing, testing, maintaining, and upgrading network opering systems software; and/or ensuring the rigorous applicion of informion security/informion assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services.
•Will provide monthly activity reports on tracking trouble calls, outages, port problems and resolutions, and routine maintenance pertaining to NAWCTSD NAVAIR operions.
•Will have direct access to Very Important Person (VIP) Help Desk support services and expedited servicing to NAWCTSD NAVAIR users.
•The resource will provide primary contact informion in case the Government must contact or recall the resource during the stipuled Premier Support periods. If there is a requirement to reach the resource 24x7, the Government will provide a mobile phone device to the resource.

You'll Bring These Qualificions:
•Must be a US Citizen and possess a DoD Secret Clearance.
•HS diploma with 4+ years of prior relevant experience, additional reled educion or certificions may be considered in lieu of experience.
•Valid DoD 8570 IAT Level II: Security+ or higher Certificion.

•Must have an active CCNA Certificion.
•Must demonstred expertise in IT Enterprise Operions and Network Operions.
•Experience with Microsoft Windows OS, version 10. 
•Experience with HP Service Manager, Remedy, or similar Service/Help Desk ticket management software. 
•Advance network troubleshooting skills. 
•Excellent customer service skills. 
•Excellent oral and written communicion skills.

Pay Range: $30.00 - $39.00/hourly re.
