We are downsizing our R&D shop. We use it to machine aluminum and plastic parts in our lab and machining shop. Some parts machined with this CNC are attached.
It is a nice machine, Made in the USA by Levil (Florida, USA).
Has a stand, enclosure, coolant tank and pump, sensor height (automatic tool height setting), 3 axis probe (X,Y,Z), ATC with 6 tool holders (currently out of the machine to provide larger machining area, but it can be installed and have it automatically change tools). We are using the ATC manually with a button (air piston drawbar), very quick and easy to swap tools.
Great option for a small shop, garage or home use. Runs on single phase 110V (normal outlet). Needs compressed air for tool change.
The spindle is 2hp, with ATC.
Travel: 16.5" in X, 8.5" in Y, 7.5" in Z.
We bought it from a school (they barely used it) and rebuilt it to have a new controller to the Acorn to get more capability, for instance to include a toolsetter (made in Japan, measure height of the tools), 3D probe (Made in USA), 4th axis...
We also upgraded the software to Centroid Mill Pro CNC Software. That is the software used to control the mill, with an Ethernet cable. The license comes with the machine (it's linked to the Acorn board). A computer is not included, but any laptop or desktop running Windows should be able to handle it.
For CAM, we use Fusion360. Have a great post that works well from swissi2000. His post is free and excellent, even for the 4th axis!
He has a lot of probe apps for the centroid too.
The X,Y,Z axes have Copley Controls Accelus drives, each motor has encoder for closed-loop feedback control.
The spindle is brushless and has an Advanced Motion Controls drive.
Located in Oviedo, about 10min from UCF. I have a lift jack that we can use to load the machine to a pickup truck or van.
We also have a 4th axis for sale that works with this machine. It has an Accelnet controller with Harmonic Drive motor and gearing with internal encoder (made in Japan).
If purchased together with the machine, we can provide an additional discount and the total price for the complete setup is $5K.
