Mack Industries is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this position qualified candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of our fleet that includes on Road Tractors and trailers, company vehicles, and heavy equipment such as forklifts and Loaders. In this position you will work alongside other mechanics in the shop. This position is required to perform annual DOT inspections, maintain proper records as well as maintain a safe, organized shop area. Essential Functions
Perform fleet repairs, perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections
Maintains equipment integrity and operational by maintaining a routine maintenance schedule for each piece of the company fleet
Performs repairs and replacements of fleet that includes but not limited to engines, transmissions, steering, hydraulic, braking, lighting and electrical systems
Make road calls on disabled company vehicles and perform repair on the road
Completes annual maintenance and as needed repairs to all company fleet vehicles, small and heavy equipment
Maintains the appearance of the company fleet through routine maintenance, and painting when needed
Maintains inventory of parts and tools
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a diesel mechanic required
Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting engine malfunctions and fault codes
Strong hydraulic and electrical skills
CDL is a plus but not required
Proficient in diesel maintenance and repairs
ASCE Certified preferred not required
Skilled at driving oversized vehicles required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong mathematics and science abilities a plus
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Highschool diploma or equivalent
Environment Conditions and Physical Strain
Construction environment, seasonal weather conditions
Due to the nature of the operation, the levels of noise, dust and dirt can be high.
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs., on occasion
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Must be able to squat, crawl, climb and kneel to complete tasks
